You’ve walked for countless hours, trying to find a way out of this nightmare. It’s hopeless, you realize. You’ve walked all night, and now light emerges in the eastern sky. A strange foggy haze surrounds you, swirling tendrils of morning mist serving to remind you that all is not well – even with the sunrise.
Your appetite returns again, corralling your eyes towards a diner set in the shadows of an alleyway. A stained menu is tacked to the glass with yellowed tape. Compelled inside, you open the door and a bell rings faintly above you. The grease is as palpable as the foreboding presence within, coating every inch of the chrome and vinyl covered decor.
Either it is too early, or this place leaves a lot to be desired. You are the only patron. A haggard looking chef calls to someone in the back of the place. “Customer!” he barks.
Calling this place a greasy spoon would be an insult to run-down diners everywhere. You don’t want to know what crawls in the corners, let alone what goes on in the kitchen. Thirteen more creepy calamities are yours to consume. Breakfast black and blue plate specials include
● Two sheep farmers in rural England fight to protect their livelihood from a monster prowling the Bodmin Moors
● On the eve of the 20th century a wedding party plans to celebrate with a toast over the house wine until one guest refuses, offering a ghastly explanation
● The ghost of a young boy killed in an annual leaf burning tradition haunts anyone who crosses his smoky path
A surly one-legged waitress hobbles over to take your order. Her peg leg clomps angrily on the floor as she approaches. “What’ll it be, mac?” She asks
.
You swallow and try to speak. “I’ll just have the special.” You say with a shaky voice.
The waitress grunts and walks away. Sunlight shines in rectangular patterns on the floor. Dust glows from the beams, floating around lazily like lightning bugs on a summer’s eve. The bell rings again, and you turn to see who just came in. The door closes as the bell chimes ominously. Nobody is there.

Fright Feast III eBook Brian James Lane Reviews
And the quality of the offerings continues to be top notch! The third in the series, the author is still flexing his writing muscles and this book is just as fresh and imaginative as the first two books. Each story surprises and delights, a creepy feast for all!
Brian James Lane is an amazing author and this book series is an endless feast of fun. This continues to be one of my all time favorite book series!
Good decent stirring I enjoyed most of the stories...though the elevator one was pretty predictable. The old ladies was a good one.
I really liked it. Original stories with fun twists.
